Was tarpon fishing a few years back just a couple hundred feet off of Anna Maria Island close to Egmont Key in a small skiff. 2 great hammerheads both over 12 feet long came just as my husband reeled almost to the boat and made a meal of his 4+ foot long tarpon. It was like natgeo, or that moment in jaws when they say “I think we’re going to need a bigger boat.” They were majestic, and made us feel small. The tarpon’s scales floated through the water like giant glitter sparkling in the sun. I just don’t think I’d feel safe on a board fishing for tarpon. Brave souls & thrill seekers you must be! @livewatersports https://youtu.be/kc_lzbmKhJs
