Capt. Joe says:
As we poled up towards this fish, my heart started to beat slowly. Time slowed down in a major way. I wanted everything in the world for @kaceebones to get this black big black drum to the boat. We stood patiently observing its behavior as it tailed, back out of the water, and we waited for the right opportunity. Kacee then played her best odds and decided to get out of the skiff to stealthily approach the fish on foot. Here’s a short clip of what I got to witness for several minutes thereafter. It was awesome, tranquil, suspenseful, frustrating, and everything in between. Kacee did everything right and I’m amazed at how many shots she got into the feeding zone from various approach angles without the fish spooking. A testament to her angling skills. Unfortunately this fish didn’t eat but it was one of those situations I will continue to replay in my mind over and over and over. This is the reason I love this sport so much. It’s these memories that are the most profound, not the fish you fool. Here’s to fueling the addiction y’all! #harveystrong
