Capt Ron says: Went back to my Granny and Papas house and took a shovel to try clean out the old flow box /artisan well. It hasn’t been used in over 30 years since my 90 yo Papa Passed away. I got a few measurements and gonna build a lid to cover it back up after I get it cleaned out and everything has time to settle to the bottom and should be clear drinking water again. Just doing it in remembrance of my Granny and Papa and the way my life was growing up. #10ozCoke #easternshoreredneck #virginia #lifesownthebackroads #guilfordnecker #flowbox #artisanwell #southerncrabber #southernliving #countryboy #family #chesapeakebay #downbythecreek #crabs #fishing #saltlife #realsaltlife #skifflife #commercialwaterman #shoreredneck

That bottle could be worth some good coin!
southerndudeva
@deviouz80 I wish … but nah isn’t a one of a kind if it’s worth 5$ I’d be lucky but just gonna keep it in a box of keep sakes for now.. thou I use collect them to get 3cents return deposit as a kid and buy candy with them or an old RC Cola sometimes had 5cent or 10cents printed under the cap when buys them back in the 70s
deviouz80
Wow rc cola, you threw it way back! Yeah def clean them up and keep them. I found a bunch of old moonshine jugs on my property in NC. I cleaned th em up and kept them
southerndudeva

southerndudeva
@dffish yea there’s Several one was a porcelain bucket we use carry water into the house with and there’s an old galvanized wash tub but that was rusted clean thru and the porcelain one has a couple quarter size holes in them… on another note my granny use to bury coins Buffalo head and Indian head nickels in the yard in quart jars
southerndudeva
@dffish my granny and Papa didn’t trust banks after the depression
dffish
@southerndudeva have to get yourself a metal detector
southerndudeva
@dffish lol Believe me I’ve thought about it… only problem is so many old soda cans and pop tops and beer cans from my uncle lived next door for 50 years I’d be digging every half inch… only plus is I can pretty well tell you where each small flower garden was and the old vegetable garden and I’m betting the flower garden is the place to dig
dffish
@southerndudeva I don’t blame them
