Wow, gorgeous and inspiring as always, @martinmarinedesign ! So I’ve often wondered how the beautiful anodized aluminum hold up in a saltwater environment. But are you saying these beauties always go to get powdercoated when you’re done with them?
martinmarinedesign
Thanks @djbachelor !! The anodize coating holds up well in a saltwater envronment as long as it is properly cared for with a routine waxing. My tops are typically not powdercoated but this customer decided to go with a white finish. We will also be coating the leaning post to match. Should look pretty cool!

Gotcha, thanks for the info @martinmarinedesign ! (Didn’t realize it needs waxed… That explains a lot about my own experience thus far, actually! ?) You are talking about pre-anodized tubes, right–so no issues with welds and bends either? Have you ever made a tower with a built-in hammock (like a taught, trampoline fabric thing)? Thinking about getting something like this designed for my 23′ Searay Sundancer… #whynot
martinmarinedesign
Hey @djbachelor, you are correct, material is pre-anodized and I haven’t seen any issues with bending it. As for the hammock tower, I think it would be sweet and not too difficult to design or fabricate!
