A Tribute in Skiff for Dustin

The passing of someone we love is so very, very difficult.  We all can draw from our personal experiences and relate to processing the loss of someone we love.  Channeling that grief into something productive to remember their loved one is a healthy way to remember a person’s passions and what made them unique.

Jeff & Mary Toole lost their son Dustin too soon. Our most heartfelt condolences to the Toole family for their loss.  This is their story.  This is a story of a family and their love of his son and his passion for all that is skiff.  This is a story we should all place close to our heart.

Introducing the Tool Family

My son is Dustin Wayne Toole. He was 22 years and on June 21st. 2016 he was involved in a vehicle accident in his pickup truck on I-4 that took his life. He was a great young man, very hard working, very responsible, and he loved Jesus Christ, his family, and fishing. Dustin has a younger brother Dalton that is 21 years old now a younger brother Mason that is now 7 years old and a sister Meagan that is now 19 years old. Dustin was also great big brother.

Dustin bought this boat 5 years ago when he was 18. Just out of high school. It is a 1987 16ft Alumacraft. It had a mini tower in it and 50hp Johnson. It was a skinny water fishing machine. Nothing fancy but very effective.

After Dustin’s accident my son Dalton and I took the boat to Tyler at MTS Boat Worx to have it completely reworked and restored to the way that Dustin said he would some day like to have it done and it turned out great. As you can see in the pics we had a new mini tower built. We made the front deck larger, and added gunwales to the middle, put a sub floor in the boat, a new bait well underneath the seat, built a new all aluminum transom, and a new back deck, the boat has been completely retired with new lights bilge pump baitwell pump aerator 24 volt trolling motor and a complete wet sound stereo. Then we powered the boat with a Yamaha 50hp 2stoke with hydraulic steering and all new rigging. Recently, we had Castaway customs put seadeck on the rig as the finishing touch. This boat is amazing. I only wish Dustin was here to see it. We miss him tremendously.
