    What if that check ball gets ripped out from a branch,a rock or some other submerged structure..you sink

    @btrreese it’s not meant to replace the drain plug but to stop the flow of water if (when) you forget to install the plug. The kits all come with a plug that attaches to a pad mounted above the drain. I have one and love it.

    @btrreese thanks for the question! Like tnorris1531 said above, the safety ball is not intended to replace the plug. It is intended to buy the boat operator time to react if they forget it. Also a submerged structure is going to hit the propeller (which sticks much further down) and cause a lot of other problems first.

    @btrreese in the very unlikely event that the Stainless Steel wire broke and the ball fell off, your bilge would activate and your threaded plug would be right next to the drain (able to be installed in an emergency) instead of back on shore in the truck
