    Slow the fuck down on reeling it in. Why do Americans feel the need to race a fish in? Take your time and enjoy the fight ffs.

    @savageaxis.223 he’s not “racing” it in, he’s keeping the slack out and redfish fight like a motherfucker. Why do you think this is an American thing?

    @thablowfish I’ve watched enough bass tournaments to know it’s a real American thing. The fish do be nearly water skiing when they’re hooked. Especially the smaller ones. Take your time like.

    @savageaxis.223 come over here and try and pull a bass out of weeds or a snook away from a bridge or dock by taking your time.. it won’t work, there is a time and place for trying to pull a fish out you’d have to admit

    @timrocks456 then tighten up your drag system then instead of horsing the fish out. You’ll kill the fish doing that.

    The fish stands a better chance of survival if you don’t tire it out half to death by taking your time with it. I learned that from old time fishermen who have rods named after them and their names up on walls at places like Bass Pro Shops and the IGFA.

    what tyoe if fish did he hook into

  20. thablowfish

    @savageaxis.223 not only are you increasing their chance of survival after release, but you don’t risk losing the fish as much and you don’t waste as much time with dinks so you can get your line right back out.

    @spweick a redfish

  22. savageaxis.223

    @thablowfish you don’t increase it. By forcing it through the water in a state of panic you increase its chance of dying.

    @savageaxis.223 by allowing it to be so tired it takes 5 minutes for them to bite down on your thumb and swim off under their own strength? No you idiot, if you tire out a fish like that and just set it in the water it’ll go belly up. If you horse it in and toss it back hell fuckin take off without any assistance. You must not do much fishing lol

    @thablowfish fucking cheek to diss me like that kid. I’ve even fishing since I was 4 and I’ve won plenty of tournaments. But pulling a fish out of the water too quick you can burst its swim bladder causing the fish to die. Try holding a fish properly like under its chin when you let it go instead of its fucking mouth you moron.

    @thablowfish not only will that but you also risk snapping your line and then you’re left with a fish with a trace of line that catch up on something and the fish will drown. Use your head ya clown.
